About

"It is hard to swallow hatred, but we did it so our children would not have to"

What is the secret of Rwanda?  How did this tiny, landlocked, mountainous nation rise above the politics of hate and teach the world the power of forgiveness?

Rwanda took a wounded nation and lifted it up to rebuild and reunite by swallowing their hate, and opening their hearts to forgiveness.

How does forgiveness shape the world? Economists, political scientists and anthropologists will pick over the story for generations, but they can only explain so much.

Where God Sleeps endeavors to explore what others cannot. We will tell the story with a mix of Broadway and Rwandan dancers, musicians, poets and singers through the eyes of some of the individuals who created the fragile miracle of modern-day Rwanda.
